Transforming men into girls for entertainment purposes is not unusual in the K-pop world. What made Suga’s transformation different from the rest is the fact that he looks extremely good as a girl. His pretty alter ego is called Min Yoonji (Suga’s real name is Min Yoongi).
Min Yoonji was first introduced back in 2017 during a BTS skit. And despite Suga’s tough exterior, Min Yoonji managed to look sweet, soft, and innocent, making her one of the most popular alter ego’s in the K-Pop industry.
With Min Yoonji’s beauty and charm, schoolboys RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were fighting for her attention. This episode is not only one of the funniest ones, but it was definitely one of the most popular episodes, thanks to Min Yoonji.
Unfortunately, Min Yoonji has not appeared in BTS activities after that episode. But just because she’s nowhere to be found, it does not mean that her popularity has died down.
Fast forward to 2020 and people are still not over Min Yoonji. In fact, When Suga did a live broadcast for his birthday he was asked about his alter ego’s whereabouts.
Suga is famously known for his swag, deep voice, and incredible rapping skills. What most people fail to realize is that the BTS star is also very funny.
Instead of brushing the question off, Suga decided to give ARMYs an update about Min Yoonji. “Maybe [she’s] at home eating rice and doing homework,” he said.
It can be recalled that Min Yoonji is a student, so Suga’s update made a lot of sense. However, the 27-year-old rapper, songwriter, and record producer didn’t share if his alter ego will ever do a comeback.
But Suga’s quick update about Min Yoonji made a lot of ARMYs happy, and most of them find it absolutely hilarious that his alter ego is still being brought up until today.
“I find nothing more hilarious than yoongi still answering questions about min yoonji in the great year of 2020,” one wrote. “Lol I love how he always plays along,” another one shared. “Y’all just won't let sis go. smh. Yoonji legend,” one ARMY commented. “We need yoonji comeback she’s been gone for too long,” one demanded.
It is safe to say that if BTS is looking for an 8th member, they have two choices: Min Yoonji or Kim Yeontan (V’s dog).
