Jeremy Lin has been known to be a guy who would help out in any way for a cause. And right now, the big issue is the coronavirus pandemic which is seriously getting out of hand. Though he is Chinese, Lin is one of the many American cagers who are being requested by the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) to return to their mother teams. Unlike the rest, Lin is most likely to comply.

However, that is not all Lin is doing right now. Aware of the need to fight the virus, the 31-year-old is donating generous sums to help get medical equipment to Wuhan, China. Lin announced the move via his Instagram account, saying he would be donating 1 million RMB to get medical equipment to Wuhan and an additional $150,000 to combat the virus. He also reminded everyone to take the necessary preventive measures and rallied everyone to stay together in this crisis.

"With my bball foundation in China, we’ve donated 1 million RMB to get medical equipment to Wuhan. I’ll also be donating an additional $150,000 towards fighting this virus. Let’s all do our part to quarantine, wash our hands vigorously, wear a protective mask to avoid germs spreading and do our part to share facts and preventative measures. Stay together, fight on!"

Lin ended up playing with the Beijing Ducks after failing to join an NBA team this 2019-20 NBA season. Little has been heard of the American-Asian although he remains hopeful of making a return to the NB scene one day.

Lin was part of the Toronto Raptors NBA champion team although the 6-foot-3 guard knows he hardly played a role. Regardless, that 2019 NBA title will forever be enshrined in his basketball resume together with his memorable plays with the New York Knicks during the 2011-12 season.

The NBA has placed the league on hold with the growing number of cases tied up to the pandemic. There will be no games for the next 30-days and the current season is on thin ice. NBA commissioner Adam Silver mentioned it was possible that the entire season would be canceled, but this could be the extreme decision if things do not improve in the coming weeks.

Several NBA players have tested positive for the virus, most coming from the Utah Jazz. Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell are some of the high profile players who contracted it, an unfortunate turn of events that may seriously jeopardize this NBA season from finishing.
