The third season of Netflix Original series Elite arrived on the streaming giant last Friday, Mar. 13. The new installment delivered another mysterious case but answered all the questions at the end. Some of the characters also left Las Encinas and moved somewhere else, while others stayed at the school. So now, what will happen to the remaining characters? And will there be Elite season 4?

Right now, there's no definite answer to that question, especially since Netflix hasn't yet announced the renewal status of Elite season 4. But although nothing is confirmed at the moment, many still believe the series would be renewed than canceled. After all, a lot of views watched the show and it's also one of the most popular non-English series in the streaming giant.

Moreover, there were rumors that the fourth season is already in production, along with the fifth installment. If indeed true, then the renewal announcement might be announced by the end of May 2020. Typically, Netflix waits for about three to six weeks before making an announcement, as they reportedly assess the viewing number first before making a decision.

As for the potential release date of Elite season 4, the series does not follow a specific release date pattern. The first and second season had a less than a year gap, while it only took six months between the second and third installments. Fans can likely expect the early arrival of the fourth season -- if it's true that production is underway. Some suggest it may probably arrive in September 2020.

Meanwhile, viewers might be seeing new faces in Elite season 4, considering that some of the characters went somewhere else after graduating at Las Encinas. Lu (Danna Paola) and Nadia (Mina El Hammani) went abroad to study, while Carla (Ester Expósito) also leaves to study abroad. So, there's a chance these characters won't be appearing in the next season.

Samu (Itzan Escamilla), Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau), and Rebeca (Claudia Salas) are all back at Las Encinas since they got expelled before graduation and need to repeat a year. Also, Ander (Arón Piper) is also back to school after completing his treatment, while Omar (Omar Shana) is now studying at Las Encinas as well. Cayetana (Georgina Amorós) was also seen in the last part, but not as a student -- now a janitress at the school.

Meanwhile, one person is officially not coming back, Polo (álvaro Rico). He was accidentally killed by Lu, and the gang managed to cover up the crime. Right now, it's still uncertain what will be the story of Elite season 4, but it may likely follow new stories if ever a new set of characters will be introduced. Some are also hoping there could be a time jump or an event that would bring the original cast back together.
