Tom Brady continues to weigh his options but it appears he will have lesser options. The San Francisco 49ers have passed up on the 42-year-old quarterback, leaving only the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the only teams interested in his services.

According to NBC Sports, the 49ers declined to pursue Brady and is sticking it out with his former back up Jimmy Garoppolo. The Niners were reportedly the four-time Super Bowl MVP's top choice but it seems the feeling was not mutual. Despite question on his performance at Super Bowl LIV, San Francisco knows it would be better off working on Garoppolo than taking in someone who may be good for only a year or two.

Hence, only two teams are left standing. One is the team that Brady has played for since he joined the NFL and the other is a team bent on throwing everything to land the six-time Super Bowl champion. According to the Tampa Bay Times, it was mentioned how the Bucs are going all-in on Brady. They are so serious in the pursuit that Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht and coach Bruce Arians are deep into preparations to make sure they land the three-time NFL Most Valuable Player.

Many have been left befuddled with the interest in Brady despite his age. There were two other teams linked to the future NFL Hall of Famer. These were the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers. But from the looks of it, both have most likely given up the chase as well and moved towards a different direction.

Brady wants a two-year contract and the Buccaneers are reportedly willing to give it to him. No figures were mentioned but critics feel that this will likely be $30 million per year. The Patriots were only willing to hand the two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year a one-year $30 million pact but that could change. Pats team owner Robert Kraft wants Brady back in the fold and there is a chance that he could give in to the two-year deal that their long-time play-caller is asking.

Brady did not end the 2019-20 NFL season well, something most thought would affect his value in NFL free agency. But the exact opposite has happened with some believing the 42-year-old still has something left in the tank.

However, there are those who believe Brady may not click with a new NFL team. Unlike with the Patriots, he would need to adjust to plays and his teammates which may or may not turn out well. At 42, critics feel it would be easier for Brady to stay in New England and end his football career there.
