The NBA season suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak could mean that games will be delayed and the playoffs will be pushed back subsequently. In such a scenario, injured players nearing full recovery could make a return in time for the postseason showdowns, and one of them is former Lakers DeMarcus Cousins.

Up to February this year, the Boogie was with the LA club, but in order to sign Markieff Morris, the Lakers were forced to waive the big man. The move made Cousins no longer part of the club roster, but strangely, the Lakers allowed him to use the team's facility until he is able to play again.

The arrangement fueled speculations that the center is a man in waiting as far as the Lakers are concerned. A window remains open for him to play with the Purple & Gold and it appears that opportune time is now, according to Heavy.

"Now that the NBA playoffs could end up going as late as August, Cousins could get back to full strength by that time. He was not on a roster by the March 1 deadline, so he should be eligible to sign with a playoff team before the postseason begins," the report suggested.

The signs coming from the Lakers and Cousins indicated so far of mutual love, and that could mean that if the latter is ready to go, the Lakers will only be willing to welcome him back.

At the same time, Cousins' former team should be happy to see him move along and continue his basketball journey elsewhere. Fadeaway World said the big man will not run out of options - there are teams out there ready to take him in.

One good destination for the journeyman is the Milwaukee Bucks, which have been performing even better than the Lakers. If there are title favorites in the season, the Bucks are certainly high on the list.

It is no secret that Cousins is chasing a ring, and joining up with Milwaukee will only increase his chance of realizing that dream.

Cousins can also choose from the league's top-performing teams to date like the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat, and the Houston Rockets. His shooting prowess and passing ability will surely be appreciated in any of these destinations, all of which boast of respective talents that can win a championship.

And while it might be remote, the same report suggested that Cousins can cross from the Lakers to the Clippers if indeed the chance is nil he will be rejoining LeBron James and company. The Clippers are strong contenders to the title, something that fits well with Cousins' goal of one day wearing an NBA ring.
