When commoner Meghan Markle married real-life prince Prince Harry back in 2018, it was like a scene from a fairytale. Since most little girls dreamt of marrying a prince one day, the Duchess of Sussex made everyone believe that it is possible.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot, the former actress was given the title of Duchess of Sussex. But her brother Thomas Markle Jr. claimed that she was blue-blooded all along.

Thomas Markle Jr. shared that his family was “closer to the Windsors than most.” He then added that “the Markles do also come from another famous bloodline as well. Robert the Bruce - direct bloodline.”

Meghan Markle’s brother explained that royal journalist and author Andrew Morton was the one who told him about the link.

“I had Andrew Morton here and my father had a genealogy person do an in-depth genealogy on us,” he said, “When Andrew came to my house, he was with us for about a week, he went through my lineage a little. When I answered the door he bowed to me and I go ‘are you okay?’ And he goes well, you are already royalty, and he told me all about it.”

Thomas Markle Jr. revealed that his sister had always wanted to be a princess. He shared that Meghan Markle always loved Disney princesses.

“Watching her grow up I don't think it was the British Royal Family, it was the princess thing - Cinderella and all that kind of stuff, Beauty and the Beast and all those Disney movies that revolve around being a Princess and a Prince and being swept off your feet,” he said.

Meghan Markle’s brother then pointed out that when his sister was photographed outside Buckingham Palace during a school trip to London in her early teens, that’s probably the moment that she realized that that's the life that she wanted.

“That when she probably set her sights on what she wanted,” Thomas Markle Jr. said. “I mean seeing the palace and Windsor and all that it would just be incredible.” He then joked that Meghan Markle "came up with this devious plan to become an actress and run into Harry in Toronto."

When asked if he thought that Meghan Markle dreamt to be a princess, he said: “Yes, I do.” But then he added that it was “any little girl's dream to become a princess and just be a part of the royal family.”
