Being a mother in the royal family means they have to divide their time between being a working royal and a fulltime mom. However, from the time Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle become a mom, the way these royals handle their kids have evolved. As all of them have different approaches in motherhood, here's how they take care of their children and turn into a royal parent.

Queen Elizabeth

At 25 years old, Queen Elizabeth already ascended the throne, but she still found time to play with her children. Despite the rumors that Prince Charles has a distant relationship with his mom, Hello! Magazine reported that he and his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, have fond memories of their childhood.

Her Majesty and her husband, Prince Philip, were seen playing with their kids in Sandringham and Balmoral. There was also a scene where Princess Anne was spotted buried up to her neck in the sand on a beach. The Duke of Edinburgh was also caught teetered on a tricycle and zoomed down a slide on the Royal Yacht Britannia when they were young.

Princess Diana

Princess Diana was known for being a hands-on mother to Prince William and Prince Harry. She injected a modern-style of parenting in the monarchy. She also broke some protocols to give her kids a normal life as much as possible, Good Housekeeping noted.

She chose her sons' names despite Prince Charles' desire to give them different monikers. She also managed to do her royal duties while putting her responsibility as a mom first over her other commitments. The People's Princess exposed them to non-royal life, eating fast food, riding the tube and bus, letting them wear jeans and baseball caps, and waiting in line.

Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton followed in the footsteps of her late mother-in-law by giving birth at the hospital. She then took her firstborn to her parents' country home in Berkshire. She also created an idyll for her three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

The Duchess of Cambridge lets them enjoy a normal life by going incognito to visit zoos, museums, and supermarkets. She also does some activities with them, like cooking, playing football, and baking.

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle, just like her husband, Prince Harry, wants her only son, Archie Harrison, to have a normal life -- away from the spotlight and noise of being a member of the royal family. This choice even led to their decision to step down as fulltime working senior royals.

Business Times recently reported that they got this parenting style from Princess Diana. As the Princess of Wales showed them the life beyond palace walls, it made a mark in Prince William and Prince Harry's minds that they are now doing the same to their kids.
