Amber Heard was forced to listen to Johnny Depp’s audiotapes that were recorded back in 2016. While many may have expected the “Aquaman” actress to show some remorse, she had the strangest reactions.
In the video footage obtained exclusively by Daily Mail, Amber Heard can be seen getting uncomfortable while listening to herself admitting to abusing Johnny Depp. But instead of looking concerned, the actress rolled her eyes, smirked, and even ate some cookies during the deposition.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were discussing an incident on the recording, where the actor claimed that his then-wife struck him in the head with a bathroom door and punched him in the jaw. “I’d just been hit in the head with a f**king corner of the door. And then I stood up and then you f**king clock me,” the actress can be heard saying on the tape.
Although Amber Heard denied slamming the door into Johnny Depp intentionally, she apologized for her actions. “I just reacted and I’m sorry. It’s below me,” she said.
The actress was then allowed to explain her side after the recording was paused. Amber Heard claimed that she did what she did to escape Johnny Depp’s assault.
“I was trying to escape from a room where Johnny was attacking me,” she said. “And in order to escape, I was trying to get onto the other side of the door attempting to close it and he was attempting to get in, despite my attempts to try and escape an assault.”
But since Amber Heard apologized, Johnny Depp’s representative Blair Berk asked her why she felt the need to say sorry if she didn’t intentionally hit him. The star explained that the tape misrepresents what truly happened at that time.
“I’m trying to keep him out of, and then he runs the door over my toes trying to get into the room,” Amber Heard explained. “I tried to push him out of it, which is what the hit is that is referred to. And Johnny, whenever he was hit or touched at all, referred to it in these ways of punching or clocked or whatever. And whether you discussed it with him or not, the last thing you do in talking to him afterward or trying to reconcile with him is to get into what the definition of those words mean to him.”
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had a bitter divorce after being married for only 18 months. Although their divorce proceedings already finalized in January 2017, the pair is still at each other’s throats after the actor filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife for defamation.
