Prince Harry arrived in Canada just in time before Prime Minister Justin Trudeau closed the Canadian border due to the coronavirus pandemic. But because of the crisis, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could return to the UK to be with the Royal Family. However, a lot of people have urged the couple not to return at all.
The poll set by Express read: “Should Meghan Markle and Prince Harry return to the UK to be with the Royal Family?” Over 6,000 people responded to the survey with a vast majority responded “no.” Eighty-eight percent (5,575 votes out of 6,396) said “no,” 11 percent (711 votes) said “yes,” and 1 percent (110 votes) said they “don’t know.”
The survey was made after a royal expert claimed that Prince Harry could be asked to return to the UK and act as “placeholder” during the coronavirus pandemic since the head leaders of the monarchy, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, will most likely be forced to self-quarantine due to their age.
Nigel Hawthorne said that Prince William, being the second in line to the British throne, will certainly be stepping up during this crisis. And as the future Queen consort, Kate Middleton is also expected to be by her husband’s side.
However, Kate Middleton had been heavily rumored to be pregnant. If this is indeed true, then she needed some time off, and the next person that should help out is Prince Harry. But most netizens expressed that they don’t want the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to return to the UK.
“No! Absolutely not. They chose to leave and the Royal Family and the country can manage without them,” one wrote. “No, they are neither wanted nor needed,” another one shared. “As far as I’m concerned, they are no longer part of the UK Monarchy,” a royal fan commented. “There is a well-known quote which suits their situation which states as you make your bed, so you must lie on it. Enough said, they have made their choices producing at the same time an acrimonious atmosphere with the rest of the family that doesn't deserve forgiveness by the family or the rest of the nation,” one said.
Meanwhile, after the completion of their final engagements as senior royals, Meghan Markle returned to Canada while Prince Harry was supposed to stay in Britain to finalize everything.
But after the declaration of the coronavirus lockdown, Prince Harry cut his stay in the UK short to rush back to Canada to be with Meghan Markle and their son Archie.
