Outlander season 5 episode 7 is coming later this week on Starz, with the title "The Ballad of Roger Mac." This episode would be the intense one so far this season, considering that the Revolutionary War is on the surface and there's no turning back now. Viewers should be prepared for this episode since this could be the beginning of the battle.
The Regulator Rebellion reached a boiling point Outlander season 5 episode 7. Because of this, Jamie was forced to face his fears and confront the consequence of his divided loyalties. Jamie has his militia and he's doing everything he can to prepare -- just like Governor Tryon. However, things wouldn't be that easy for him and there could be huge consequences in the future.
Jamie and the British recognized that the Regulators are more of a threat than they've actually imagined. Governor Tryon also acknowledged that war might be his best path moving forward -- something that's inevitable unless Jamie finds another way. The promo of Outlander season 5 episode 7 also features Brianna saying they're closing in on a key conflict that could start a war.
The good thing here is that Jamie will have some help from the people who already know the truth about the future -- like Claire, Brianna, and Roger. Perhaps, they could help him to look towards the path ahead. In addition, peace may prevail in the end as the series may not want to alter history. Despite that, they still need to be prepared for what lies ahead, given that the episode is going to be an intense one.
Meanwhile, the episode title is also intriguing but it likely suggests that Roger will be one of the focal points of the story. This could prove to be validating for him, considering what has already happened. He's also concerned that Jamie does not respect him, but the previous episode changed that as he proved his work over at the Ridge.
However, something bad may also happen to Roger within this episode, especially since Sam Heughan previously noted episode 7 is a difficult one. The episode may likely get some painful moments in The Fiery Cross, particularly a heartbreaking and tragic storyline for Roger. After all, the title hints this would be a big episode for the character.
