Sarah Ferguson is keeping the frontliners in her thoughts on the day of Princess Eugenie's 30th birthday. The Duchess of York posted a simple message of thanks on her social media for the medical workers, the civil service workers, farmers, truckers, retail and grocery workers, utility people, pharmacists and the military personnel who continue to be outside to do their job despite the threat of coronavirus.
Fergie, as friends and family call the duchess, shared a beautiful graphic to honor the frontlines in this coronavirus crisis. She posted this image first before greeting her second child on Instagram for her 30th birthday.
According to Daily Express, Fergie's followers deeply appreciated her heartfelt note. Many agreed that those who continue to risk their lives to serve the public are definitely doing a phenomenal job.
Following her lead, Princess Eugenie also thanked those who have been working and exposing themselves to the virus so that they can "take care of humankind." Princess Eugenie said in an Instagram story that she receives messages about frontliners from her followers and it was only fitting to show them the respect they deserve.
The York royal encouraged her followers, especially the British people, that they will overcome this crisis. It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared that the U.K. is now under a strict lockdown as the death toll rises to 335.
The lockdown means that many businesses have been asked to shut down, except for the essential services like groceries and pharmacies. The U.K. government is also discouraging social gatherings and asking those in the vulnerable sector to stay home and isolate themselves from people.
With the new guidelines in place, Fergie and the rest of the royal family are likely not expected to gather for Princess Eugenie's birthday celebration. It's speculated that the York princess will be staying at home with her husband Jack Brooksbank and have a quiet celebration together.
Meanwhile, Prince Andrew, Fergie's ex-husband and Princess Eugenie's father, hasn't been making the headlines since his controversial interview on BBC about Jeffrey Epstein. The Duke of York most likely privately wished his second daughter a happy birthday instead of turning to social media to draw media attention.
According to The Sun, Prince Andrew has also been following the guidelines from the government to observe social distancing. The duke was spotted riding a horse at his estate in Windsor, where Queen Elizabeth is currently staying. The was, however, no sign of the Queen joining her favorite son as fears over coronavirus persists.
