The coronavirus pandemic has forced a lot of people to cancel their plans, and the Royal Family is no exception. In fact, after the social distancing was suggested and implemented, the royal family members, especially the older ones like Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles are on self-quarantine.

On Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Britons are only allowed to leave their homes to buy necessities, for medical needs, travel to or from work if they are unable to work from home, and once a day exercise. This is an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19. The rule should be strictly followed for several weeks.

With that said, there is a high chance that Queen Elizabeth will be celebrating her birthday in lockdown. Her Majesty will turn 94 on April 21. And since she may likely to remain at Windsor Castle for the foreseeable future, the Queen may not be seen in public during her special day, and possibly not even in June when her birthday celebrations usually take place.

Prince William and Kate Middleton recently shared a message from Queen Elizabeth on their Instagram account, where Her Majesty touched on the importance of social distancing.

"As Philip and I arrive at Windsor today, we know that many individuals and families across the United Kingdom, and around the world, are entering a period of great concern and uncertainty,” it read. “We are all being advised to change our normal routines and regular patterns of life for the greater good of the communities we live in and, in particular, to protect the most vulnerable within them.”

Her Majesty also said that everybody has a role to play during this trying time and not just the professionals. She noted that the public could provide a big help by following the given suggestions.

"At times such as these, I am reminded that our nation's history has been forged by people and communities coming together to work as one, concentrating our combined efforts with a focus on the common goal,” she continued. We are enormously thankful for the expertise and commitment of our scientists, medical practitioners, and emergency and public services; but now more than any time in our recent past, we all have a vitally important part to play as individuals - today and in the coming days, weeks and months. Many of us will need to find new ways of staying in touch with each other and making sure that loved ones are safe. I am certain we are up to that challenge. You can be assured that my family and I stand ready to play our part."
