This Is Us season 4 finale arrived on Tuesday night on NBC and delivered some big reveals, but also left new questions moving forward. The episode answered the season-long mysteries, including Kevin's baby mama, as well as why he and Randall drifted apart. Although these questions have been answered, there are new mysteries that should be explored in the next season.
During the fall finale, it was revealed that Kevin was engaged and expecting a baby with a mystery woman. That question has been answered in This Is Us season 4 finale: it was Madison, Kate's best friend. It can be recalled that Kevin and Madison had a one-night stand after he reconnected with his ex-wife, Sophie. What's more shocking here is that Madison is actually having two babies -- Pearson twins.
The season finale, however, didn't show Kevin getting down on his knees or even proposing to Madison, making their relationship questionable and whether or not she's indeed her fiance. There are still a lot of questions regarding this matter even though we already know the two have twins. Perhaps, their relationship will be further explored in the next season.
This Is Us season 4 finale also revealed the root of Kevin and Randall's feud and why they can't likely go back like they once before. The episode saw the two throwing hurtful words towards each other, which could lead to them not reconciling in the future. Everything started when Kevin found out that Randall persuaded their mother Rebecca to go on a nine-month Alzheimer's clinical trial in St. Louis.
Things get more serious between them when Randall told Kevin that he would never live up to Jack's wishes. Randall said that Kevin isn't chasing their father's shadow, but Randall's. Kevin then dissed his brother and fired back, saying the worst thing happened in his life was the day when Rebecca and Jack brought Randall's home. This is a brutal fight and it remains to be seen if they reconcile in the future.
But aside from the fight and unexpected happenings, This Is Us season 4 still delivered a light-hearted scene. Kate and Toby had another child through adoption. The two decided that it's time to expand their family and give baby Jack a sibling. Since Kate may suffer another dangerous pregnancy, she and her husband opted for adoption.
The series will now start with its long hiatus, so viewers need to wait for a little while before seeing again the series on the small screen. The good thing is that there are still two more seasons to go, which means some of the new unanswered questions in This Is Us season 4 finale will be answered in the future.
