The COVID-19 pandemic was not able to stop the US electric vehicle maker Tesla to reach another milestone. Tesla has just proven to its detractors that it can succeed and reach its goals no matter the situation. Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently shared the good news that the electric vehicle company was able to reach its one-millionth mark.

On the social networking site Twitter, Elon Musk congratulated the team for hitting the milestone. The achievement is an important one for the company, which was only founded in 2003. The Twitter announcement comes with a red Tesla Model Y photo, which is the one-millionth vehicle that the company produced.

Before, Tesla executives admitted that they might not be able to hit this milestone in 2020. They are confident however, that Tesla might get close to the figures. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, production issues with the Model 3, and many other issues, the goal was a bit hard to reach. But, Tesla made it and the team could never be much prouder.

It was in 2008 when the electric vehicle maker released the Roadster. In other words, it took Tesla around 12 years to achieve this milestone. But, given the situation, there is a high chance that it could hit is 2 million mark very sooner based on its targets at the moment. Earlier this year, Tesla revealed that it intends to ship more than 500,000 electric vehicles all over the world this year.

Tesla's most recent milestone is a great achievement for the company. But, since it is just an automotive startup, it could not yet compete with the production capacity of big names in the industry-the Volkswagen or Toyota group, which could produce more than 10 million vehicles annually.

Before 2019 ends, Tesla was able to deliver its very first Made in China Model 3 in the region through the Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai. Tesla is also preparing the site for the Gigafactory 4 in Germany. It was faced with a lot of opposition, but the court ruled that Tesla could push through with its tree felling work.

This Mar. the US electric vehicle maker is anticipated to begin shipping the Tesla Model Y ahead of its initial Fall 2020 release window. The all electric pickup truck dubbed as the Cybertruck, meanwhile, is anticipated to enter into production in the late part of 2021. Tesla's Shanghai factory met some issues because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but China is well into recovery right now, and Tesla fans are optimistic that the US vehicle maker can resume its normal operation in the COVID-stricken region.
