WARNING: This article may contain spoilers for Chicago Fire season 8 episode 19. Read at your own risk.

Chicago Fire season 8 episode 19 is coming within a few weeks on NBC and there are a lot of interesting stories coming up in this episode. Some of the stories worth-exploring here include tensions at the firehouse, as well as Cruz preparing for his wedding.

In Chicago Fire season 8 episode 19, tension started to build up after a group of rabble-rousers tried to lock down the firehouse. Brett is facing a monumental decision, while Cruz is preparing himself for a big day. Gallo and Ritter, on the other hand, are launching a social media page for the Firehouse 51.

Chicago Fire season 8 episode 19 will not be airing next week and will arrive the following week instead. According to CarterMatt, NBC likely wants to stretch out the remaining episodes this season. The current installment, reportedly, has 20 episodes, so there may not be big cliffhangers in the season finale.

It remains to be seen whether or not we're going to see some big story arc getting closures once the season concludes. Given that there are only two remaining episodes this season, some stories may not wrap up and might continue in the next season.

It can be noted that the production for the current installment has shut down due to the threat brought by the COVID-19. Just like other shows, some episodes of the NBC series that were written will no longer be filmed and will likely be part of the next installment.

The good news is that NBC renewed all One Chicago for three more seasons, so viewers shouldn't be worried about the future of Chicago Fire. But although there's is a chance the remaining episodes from season 8 will be carried out in season 9, some things remain uncertain.

In a recent Twitter post, one fan asked show executive producer Derek Haas if they'll incorporate the last few episodes of the season in the next one. He then answered that he doesn't really know what they're going to do as it would be hard for them to film already-written episodes.

Haas admitted he really likes the storylines they're going to write to build up a finale. However, he also said: "We can't just shoot the scripts/outlines as we had them, because the world will have changed and we'll want to reflect that." Thus, there could be changes along the way.

Chicago Fire season 8 episode 19 airs on Wednesday night, Apr. 8, on NBC.
