Amid the forced Premier League break due to the COVID-19 spread, Manchester United continued on the pursuit to sign Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho and reports said the two sides are nearing a deal. The Red Devils are poised to land the teenage sensation, beating out rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

Reports said Dortmund executives have been sending out signals that the negotiations on the transfer of Sancho from Bundesliga to the Premier League have favored the side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It appears that the offer coming from United was more convincing compared to the rival clubs.

According to Metro, since Solskjaer has made the 19-year-old his target priority, it has been made clear that the United board is ready to make him the most expensive signing of the club.

That means United is ready to pay the estimated £100 million valuation placed by the German club on Sancho, justified by the England international's 14 goals and 15 assists in domestic appearances this season.

Sancho's transfer terms also stipulate that he'll make the switch only at the end of the current campaign, which United has reportedly green-lighted. This act further steered Dortmund's attention to the offer made by United, said the same report.

It helped that Solskjaer's task bringing Sancho to his side won the full support of the United board.

As the report said: "Ed Woodward [is] ready to go all out to sign him in the summer."

Meanwhile, it is emerging that Sancho is favoring a move to United in part because of the chance to play with three Red Devils. For one, the goalscorer is looking forward to team up again with Marcus Rashford.

Rashford and Sancho saw action together representing England in international competitions, according to Express.

The young striker is likewise fired up by the thought of having Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial as new teammates, which will come true once the talks on joining up with the Red Devils have been finalized.

As things stand now, United will only need to wait for the next transfer window to open in the summer to seal the deal on Sancho. But it remains doubtful if the European football schedule will proceed as expected due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

All football games have been suspended at the moment and there is no telling when the season will restart. On that, the possibility is there that ongoing transfer deals will be stalled, or at best the finalization of agreements made will see significant delays.
