Meghan Markle is used to working and earning her keep since she was fresh out of college. After she and Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, become non-working royals by April, the Duchess of Sussex will apparently relaunch her blog, release a cookbook and develop a kitchenware line.
According to Fox News, Meghan would like to bring back The Tig, the lifestyle blog she wrote and managed for many years before she had to give it up as a member of the royal family. The duchess used to write stories about food, healthy habits, the latest trends and other points of interest in The Tig, which amassed a small following.
The report also stated that Mehgan is looking into making a new cookbook as a follow up to her first one. In 2018, Meghan released the cookbook "Together: Our Community Cookbook" for charity. In line with the second cookbook project, the Duchess of Sussex is also eager to have a kitchenware line.
An insider said that Meghan has plenty of projects in the pipeline. The Disney job, where she narrated for the documentary movie, Elephant, is just the beginning of her non-royal related plans. Incidentally, the movie will be streaming on Disney Plus beginning April 3.
Meanwhile, Meghan and Prince Harry have moved to California from Vancouver a day before President Donald Trump closed the borders. Sources told People that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with the 10-month-old baby, have been staying in a secluded compound in Los Angeles and are observing the quarantine against the coronavirus.
The Sussexes are soon going to meet with their team in California by April 1 to plan out their new ventures. Prince Harry and Meghan actually hired Catherine St-Laurent, a former staff for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as their chief of staff and executive director. St-Laurent will help the Sussexes create their non-profit enterprise, per Page Six. The staff confirmed she's joining the Sussexes in an email to her friends and colleagues over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Trump tweeted that the United States will not be paying for Prince Harry and Meghan's security as they permanently settle in California. The president said that while he admires Queen Elizabeth and considers her a friend, the Sussexes will have to pay for their own bodyguards and not the U.S. government.
In response, Prince Harry and Meghan said through their representative that they have "no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resource." The Sussexes said that they have made private arrangements for their protection officers in America.
