Buckingham Palace will no longer be speaking for or commenting on matters concerning Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they become official non-royals after March 31. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex apparently released a memo to announce their own separate communications team.

According to a spokesperson, Prince Harry and Meghan will be working with Sunshine Sachs for their U.S. media relations and James Holt for their U.K. media concerns. There will be no other communications coming from the Sussex pair, not even from spokespeople inside Buckingham Palace, except these two entities.

Prince Harry and Meghan also acknowledged that they will start their new journey as non-working royals amid a concerning time with the coronavirus pandemic around the world. However, as they hope efforts are done to stop the spread of the virus, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that they also recognize that there will be questions about their transition. Thus, they have created their new communications team.

In relation to their shift to private life, Prince Harry and Meghan also announced on their Sussex Royal Instagram that they will be retiring the account. However, they assured the public that the social media page will remain, along with their Sussex Royal official website, "for the foreseeable future."

Prince Harry and Meghan thanked their followers for being part of their community in their short stint as working royals. They said that their work will continue even as they will no longer be active in this particular Instagram account.

It is believed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will launch a new social media account and website in the next few weeks. They actually said in their final post that they will be "reconnecting" with their followers soon.

As Buckingham Palace announced in January, Prince Harry and Meghan will keep their HRH titles but they have opted not use these as they step down from their royal duties.  Thus, they are giving up their Sussex Royal branding.

Prince Harry, however, remains the sixth in line to throne as someone born in the royal family and his son, Archie Harrison, is still the seventh in line. The Sussexes are technically still royal family members but will no longer receive support from the Sovereign Grant.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said that their first few months as private individuals will be focused on their family. They will, however, continue to privately support and work on their existing charities as they were allowed to retain their royal patronages. Their arrangement with the royal family will be reviewed after 12 months.
