A lot of people were excited to see Kate Middleton and Prince William's rare photos inside their Kensington Palace on Instagram. However, fans seemed to be shocked when the Duchess of Cambridge was not wearing her engagement ring.
The Cambridges' photos were released to show their support to mental health initiatives amid the coronavirus pandemic. In the snap, it looked like the future queen consort decided to remove her sapphire and diamond engagement ring to avoid the spread of the virus. However, she remained wearing her gold wedding ring.
According to Hello! Magazine, Kate Middleton is not the only one who removed her jewelry in this time of crisis. TV personalities Holly Willoughby and Lorraine Kelly also decided to remove their rings during this time.
Marie Claire noted that there is no official directive yet if the jewelry should be removed to avoid the spread of the virus. But, experts often say that people should wash their hands to protect themselves from the coronavirus.
So, it only makes sense to take the jewelry off whenever they wash their hands or just leave them off altogether. Germs can stay under the rings, although it remains to be known how it can be transmitted. As Kate Middleton has to interact with a lot of people, it is maybe the right thing to do.
It is also not the first time that Kate Middleton doesn't wear her huge engagement ring. In January, she only wore her simple wedding band at the National Portrait Gallery. Anyhow, she was spotted wearing the ring in question when she visited the NHS 111 call center earlier this month and at the Commonwealth Day Service. So, fans may soon see her wearing it again.
Aside from her missing engagement ring, fans also noticed that Prince William's wife recycled her outfit for her work-at-home wardrobe. She was wearing the same Mark & Spencer trouser suit that she donned when she visited NHS. But, it wasn't revealed if the photograph taken when she was talking to Catherine Roche, CEO of children's mental health organization Place2Be, was made on the same day that she went to the healthcare system.
As expected, a lot of fans commended Kate Middleton's style. Some said that she looked elegant, although she was only staying at home to work. Others added she was stunning and timelessly beautiful, insisting it was nice to see them busy at work amid the U.K. lockdown.
