Prince William and Kate Middleton are dividing their homeschooling duties for Prince George and Princess Charlotte. School has been out for the Cambridge children, who are aged six and four years old, for the rest of the term due to the coronavirus crisis.
Sources told The Sun that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very much involved with Prince George's school work as a Year 2 student at Thomas's Battersea. Prince William and Kate are also giving Charlotte, a reception student, plenty of activities while they let the kids play with their youngest sibling, Prince Louis, who will turn two years old this April.
The source said that Kate is leading her children's homeschool lessons most of the time at their country home in Anmer Hall. However, Prince William is also doing his share of helping Prince George and Princess Charlotte with their online school activities.
On top of their parenting duties, Prince William and Kate have been symbolically taking charge of the royal family since the public health crisis. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles are observing the government's guidelines, especially for the vulnerable sector. This means that those over 70 years old have to limit their social activities and movement, and if possible, stay at home so that they won't catch the virus.
Prince Charles, especially, needed to be in self-isolation for a week since he tested positive for coronavirus last week. Fortunately, his doctors said that the Prince of Wales is doing fine and has mild symptoms only. As of Monday, March 30, Prince Charles have been out of self-isolation but he remains in Birkhall in Scotland.
Queen Elizabeth, on the other hand, plans to stay in Windsor Castle until after Easter. London has been the U.K. epicenter of the coronavirus, thus the Queen cannot immediately return to Buckingham Palace.
The monarch has also canceled many of royal engagements for the unforeseeable future. However, as Prince William and Kate are not part of the vulnerable sector, the British public is apparently looking up to them to boost their morale amid this crisis.
Meanwhile, Prince William may also be looking into coming back to work as an air ambulance pilot. Sources said that His Royal Highness wants to help those in the frontlines in this pandemic.
The Duke of Cambridge used to work in the medical emergency services from 2015 to 2017. However, he had to give this life-saving role because he is being groomed to be the future king after his father, Prince Charles, and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
Apparently, the station where he used to work in the air ambulance is quite near Anmer Hall. Thus, Prince William is thinking about pouring his time to help down the ground.
