BTS is arguably the biggest boy group on the planet right now. That being said, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are too busy to even have the time to be in a romantic relationship with someone.
But before they reached the superstardom status, BTS lived normally like the rest of us. And just like any regular high school boys out there, RM also had a girlfriend.
“You had a girlfriend, right? Are you still dating?” one of the Problematic Men hosts asked. “No, not at the moment,” RM replied.
At first, RM confused the hosts with his genius-level explanation as to why his relationship with his ex-girlfriend didn’t work out.
“There was this girl that I dated in high school 4-5 years ago. A relationship is something that you can’t really define,” RM shared. “But to put it into perspective, it is as if a circle and a triangle trying to become a square and we didn’t watch well in that process.” (Watch the clip here).
RM then proceeded to share in-depth details about the breakup. Aside from never-ending arguments, the BTS star was not too happy that his ex-girlfriend had an “unacceptable” relationship with her male friends.
“She had a lot of guy friends,” RM revealed. "To be honest, having a lot of guy friends isn’t a problem. But in my circumstances and from my point of view, she did things that were unacceptable as a girlfriend. And so we continued to argue. And if things continue like this, I figured this would have an effect on my pure feelings for her. So we ended things.” (Watch the clips here and here).
Not surprisingly, ARMYs were so impressed with how RM answered the question. Many pointed out how honest and real the BTS leader was when he shared his breakup experience.
“I’m totally impressed with RM. At his age with the understanding of life’s values. And being able to denote the difference of significant values that’s compatible for him in a relationship. He’s able to define relationship values vs job’s values. That man has a dynamic brain,” one commented. “None of my business but I wonder how that girl must be feeling now. And I love the way Namjoon answered this question, honest, intellectual and so on point. I hope his future partner will be someone as eloquent as him and how lucky she's! I just love Namjoon so much and wish for nothing but happiness and the best for him in life!” another one wrote.
