The previous episode of Better Call Saul season 5, titled "JMM," saw Kim Wexler coming up with an unexpected suggestion for herself of Jimmy McGill: getting married. It seems like she has other motives as to why she wants to marry him. Perhaps, she wanted protection that comes with getting married, or both of them want to make sure they won't testify against each other since they're in the law profession.
The recently released episode of Better Call Saul season 5 saw Kim and Jimmy confirming at the courthouse that their wedding was a legal proceeding, and it wasn't anything more than that. They had a ceremony with Huell in attendance, they kissed, but there are no rings. The two just had their wedding and then continued doing their businesses while dealing with different issues.
While it's nice to see Kim and Jimmy got married, their wedding is still purely business and no feelings involved. Also, there are still a lot of questions when it comes to their future, especially since Kim wasn't around during the Breaking Bad era. There's a huge concern over her future: it's either she divorced Jimmy and went somewhere else, or she died in Better Call Saul timeline.
These two have already been through a lot, with Kim sticking by Jimmy's side even though things get hard. However, things started to get different this season as Jimmy continues seeking his persona, Saul Goodman. Their relationship is changing, mostly because of some choices Jimmy's keep on making. In addition, their relationship may have something to do why Kim wasn't seen in Breaking Bad.
Kim and Jimmy's relationship is also one of the greatest driving forces of the series, so her absence in the future is likely connected to it. It looks like Kim's relationship with Jimmy played a huge part as to what really happened to her in the future. But then, some are still hoping she didn't meet her ultimate demise and just moved elsewhere.
Meanwhile, as for what else is coming on Better Call Saul season 5, the next episode will see Jimmy struggling once again. When he decided to become Saul, he recognized the risks that come with it. Now, it looks like he's in a position where he finds almost everything in his life gone. Hence, he should be prepared as dangers are just around the corner.
Better Call Saul season 5 airs every Monday night on AMC.
