Prince Charles addressed the public for the first time after he came out of his self-isolation. The Prince of Wales was positive for COVID-19 but doctors said can be out of his room as he is feeling better.
In his first public message, Prince Charles posted a heartfelt message of thanks via the Clarence House Twitter to the British Red Cross. He shared that he spoke to the chairman on the phone and heard great news about how the organization is helping out other patients of the coronavirus pandemic.
Prince Charles also said that he is happy and proud of the kindness people have extended to each other despite the crisis. The Prince of Wales also thanked the volunteers helping out the British Red Cross, where he is the president.
His Royal Highness is still staying at his home in Scotland because of the government directive to limit movements to control the spread of the coronavirus. His wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, as well as members of the royal household, however, are still being asked to stay in self-isolation for another week.
Prince Charles experienced mild coronavirus symptoms a few days after he and Camilla arrived in Birkhall after leaving London a few weeks ago. He and Camilla had their test in Aberdeenshire and they, reportedly, qualified because of their age and medical conditions.
Doctors, however, said that it will be hard to trace where Prince Charles got the infection since he was in a series of engagements before he showed symptoms. The Prince of Wales tried to avoid handshakes as much as possible during his royal engagements but Clarence House said he was carrying out a number of public service duties before the government asked those above 70 years old should scale down their activities.
Meanwhile, Prince Charles is expected to maintain his digital office in Birkhall as he proceeds to do more work. The Prince of Wales has been making and receiving phone calls, as well as writing letters to keep tabs of his Duchy of Cornwall and the Prince's Trust. The heir to the throne has a reputation for being a hard worker.
His Royal Highness also got in touch with his sons, Prince William and Harry, even while in self-isolation. Apparently, the family had a video conference that made the Prince of Wales happy since he was able to talk to his boys together.
It's unclear, however, if he was able to speak to his mother and father. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are staying in Windsor Castle until after the Easter holiday.
