Almost everyone you know is in quarantine, so it's not really surprising why there are a lot more people on the internet these days. If you have buddies at home, now is the time to get to know them better, but if you're alone most of the time, the World Wide Web is pretty much your best friend at this time.
If you're convinced you've seen everything the internet has to offer, think again. There's now more ways to have fun online, and the best part about it? Most of them come for free. Before boredom gets the best of you, here are some ways to entertain yourself while the entire world is social distancing.
Actually try and be a gamer
Playing video games is the go-to for a lot of people even before the pandemic, but a few others don't consider themselves big on games. If you're one of these people, now might be the right time to actually enjoy video games.
If you feel like an Xbox or a PlayStation is too complex for you, maybe you'd fit right in with the Nintendo Switch folks. Or you can always try Apple Arcade or Google Stadia if you're into streaming games. There's a lot of time to learn.
Read and try not to fall asleep doing so
Not a lot of people can withstand reading an entire novel, but hey, it's not that bad. In fact, it's as good as watching a movie -- maybe even better. And because getting a physical copy is hard these days, try digital books instead. There's lots of free stuff online from Project Gutenberg and Authoroma, but of course, you can always buy titles you find really interesting.
Sing along with your favorite artists on Instagram
Social distancing means no concerts as well, but that hasn't stopped many artists from entertaining their fans. Thanks to social media networks like Instagram, popular performers such as John Legend, Chris Martin, Pink, Keith Urban, and several others can livestream concerts. Of course, your choice of musicians aren't that many, but who knows, your favorite might show up on your live feed one of these days.
Explore a museum
No, you don't have to go out to do that. Thanks to technology, digital museum tours exist. A quick Google search will reveal virtual tours of famous locations around the world. If you're more interested in art, you can always download the Google Arts and Culture app and view paintings in AR.
