Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha Markle made another rant against the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Samantha said that Prince Harry and Meghan are "horribly cruel" for abandoning the royal family amid the coronavirus pandemic.
In a radio interview, Samantha said that Prince Harry and Meghan are "selfish" and "disgusting" for moving to California instead of going home to London last week. Meghan's older sister did not hold back and called the Sussexes the "biggest hypocrites out there right now."
Samantha said that the British people need their royal family to be united in this public health crisis. She claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan did not even phone the royals or get in touch with the duke's family.
However, Us Weekly reported that Prince Harry was able to talk to Prince Charles after he received his COVID-19 diagnosis. Sources said that the Duke of Sussex was concerned for his father's health and well-being since he is over 70 and vulnerable to coronavirus.
Samantha, however, believes that Prince Harry and Meghan made no such effort to contact the royal family. She said that it doesn't surprise her since Meghan has not even checked on their father, Thomas Markle, who is also over 70 and vulnerable.
Meghan's half-sister further said that the Sussexes did not call Thomas even after two heart attacks in 2018. She said that this must be status quo for her celebrity sister.
The Duchess of Sussex has been estranged from her family at the height of her wedding preparations. She cut ties with her father after he made attempts to connive with the paparazzi, which Prince Harry warned him about.
Samantha also shared her opinion about Prince Harry and Meghan's security detail in their move to the U.S. after President Donald Trump said that his government won't pay for their protection in California. She said that she is supporting Trump on this issue even as Prince Harry and Meghan's representatives said that the Sussexes will pay for their bodyguards with their private resources.
Her rant comes after Thomas Markle also talked to the British press to say that Prince Harry and Meghan must return to the U.K. Thomas told Mirror that they need to show their support for Queen Elizabeth in this volatile period.
Despite some scathing remarks, the Markles are still hopeful that Meghan will reconcile with them, especially with their father. Thomas is actually hoping that he will be able to see his grandson, Archie Harrison.
