As millions of fans have been waiting for The Winds of Winter, George R.R. Martin dropped another detail for his upcoming novels. It appeared that one of the many castles that were featured in the Game of Thrones TV series will appear in GRRM's yet-to-be-released books.

Ted Nasmith, a Canadian illustrator who Martin commissioned to create several castles for the A Song of Ice and Fire, talked about the ongoing project and offered some details on what fans may look forward to. ASOIAF Reddit user, named zionius, asked Nasmith which particular art he received the most information from GRRM.

The illustrator admitted that Martin did provide guidance on how he will illustrate Aegon's Fort and Old Valyria. However, the famous novelist did give a limited description of how he wants the Eastwatch by the Sea to look like.

"You may have seen my small painting of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. That was a private commission, for which I relied on the very limited info in the novel," he said.

Nasmith said GRRM did give a remark that his illustration of the Eastwatch-by-the-Sea was inaccurate but did not take it against him. Apparently, the author admitted that any descriptions of how he would like the castle to look have yet been written. He, however, already commissioned it as it will be included in either The Winds of Winter or A Dream of Spring.

The Reddit user offered some possible scenarios where the Eastwatch castle will appear in the remaining book sequels. If it resembles the Eastwatch plotline in GoT Season 7, it could be a prologue of ADOS with the Wall crumbling into pieces. Another possibility is that Jon Snow goes to Hardhome by way of Eastwatch.

In GoT Season 7, Jon (Kit Harington) travels to the castle with a small force to capture a wight as proof to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) that death is coming. In the end, the Army of the Dead reaches Eastwatch led by the Night King riding Viserion. The dragon breathes fire at the Wall. It destroys the Eastwatch and allows the White Walkers to pass into Westeros.

Some fans commented that it could also be a cliffhanger of The Winds of Winter's epilogue or an opening prologue of A Dream of Spring. Only GRRM knows where the castle will appear but fans can be assured that it will play a significant role in the upcoming installments of the A Song of Ice and Fire series.
