MacGyver season 4 episode 8 is arriving on Friday night on CBS, with the title "Father + Son + Father + Matriarch." This will be an interesting episode as it will bring some significant people in Mac's life. For instance, we're going to see his father returning within this episode, and Mac will also meet his aunt.
Tate Donovan is back as Mac's father in MacGyver season 4 episode 8. He's going to be a big part of this episode, wherein he finds himself in the middle of a dangerous mission. Oversight believes he'll not be able to complete it and asks for Mac's help.
According to the synopsis, Oversight is almost killed in a bombing and he recruits Mac to help him find the suspected bomber. There could be a big explosion here and some of the characters' lives are on the line. So, Mac needs to do whatever he can to prevent this from happening.
MacGyver season 4 episode 8 will also see Mac meeting his Aunt Gwendolyn. This will be the first appearance of Jeri Ryan as Mac's aunt. It's exciting to see what would be her role here, and she may somehow reveal a few secrets to Mac.
There might be a reason why viewers haven't seen here before in the show. She also arrives at the same time as Mac's father returns. Hence, some personal stories will be explored here and it could deliver unexpected reveals as well.
Oversight believed that Gwendolyn was already dead, that's why he never bothered mentioning her. It seems like she is Mac's aunt on his mother's side since her last name is Hayes. She somehow evolved and may now play a huge part in the larger Codex story.
It remains to be seen whether Gwendolyn is a friend or a foe. Perhaps, she could put Mac in an interesting position. She could help him learn more about his family, but she could also use this to manipulate him. So, Mac might be in a dangerous situation that could potentially hurt him in the end.
Aside from Mac's father and aunt, Peter Weller also returns as Mason in this episode. He is the one responsible for the death of Mac's friend Charlie. Moreover, Keith David will also be part of this episode. The actor is known for his role in Greenleaf, Community, and Enlisted.
