When Meghan Markle joined the royal family, she took the United Kingdom by storm with her fashion and style. With her envy-inducing looks, not to mention her excellent hairstyles, everyone is taken aback by the so-called "Meghan Effect." As the Duchess of Sussex stepped down as a senior member of the royal family, hairstylist George Northwood finally speaks out about working with the former actress and the inspiration behind most iconic hairstyle.

In a series of Instagram posts on Tuesday, March 31, the exact day that the Sussexes ditched their HRH titles, the famed hairdresser shared his most favorite hairstyles of the former Suits star that he created. From her royal wedding to her last royal duty, the coiffeur was the one behind her most talked-about hair looks.

In a lengthy caption, George Northwood said it was an "enormous privilege and a lot of fun" working with both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for over the past two years. He also commended all the time he spent with them, enjoying every minute of their collaboration.

He also added that aside from championing small businesses, the couple also taught him a lot about diversity, equality, and the importance of having good mental health. Now that they step back from their royal lives, he wishes the two much love and the best of luck for the next chapter that awaits for them. "Can't wait to see you one day soon - and so happy to now be able to share about our special time together," he ended his note.

In an interview with British Vogue, George Northwood wanted to share his positive experience and the huge achievement he managed to attain by working with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that made him so proud. He revealed that there was something beautiful in creating Meghan's iconic looks "but not talking about them" in public.

He was the one behind Meghan Markle's iconic messy bun, which a lot of people wanted to imitate. Knowing Meghan wanted to inject some modernity to the monarchy, George Northwood tried to incorporate the modern style with the royal protocol. They wanted her hair to be up but not too formal, as they aimed to refine imperfection, which pretty much sums her up.

The two met in 2018, at the time Meghan Markle was looking for a hairdresser in London, and they quickly hit it off. Prince Harry's wife told George Northwood that she is a "Cali girl," to which he responded with "one of my favorites." Since then, they immediately get along.
