Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have been the faces of many fashion magazines and publications because of their iconic styles and appearances. For many years, especially after the former actress joined the British Royal Family, it was asserted that a fashion and style competition between the two was apparent.

But, now that the Duchess of Sussex is no longer in the United Kingdom, and has officially exited her life as a working senior royal, fashion experts and sources reportedly said that this caused changes in the Duchess of Cambridge's wardrobe. As claimed, she now feels more "relaxed" as she no longer feels the need to "compete."

According to The Sun UK, an insider recently shared that Kate Middleton looks more "comfortable" now in her fashion choices. It was said that she has been putting on a much "simpler style" since Meghan Markle left the United Kingdom.

The source further contended that Prince William's wife certainly felt the need to "compete" two years ago. It was a "phase" she went through as she felt "intimidated" by Prince Harry's then-fiancé and now-wife, the insider added.

Aside from her fashion pieces, the source also noted that Kate Middleton's make-up artist, Arabella Preston, is now using "less" make up for the Duchess' looks. Ever since Meghan Markle flew out of the country for Canada, it was claimed that the Cambridge duchess has worn "less eye make-up and paler lip colors."

Her nail polishes were also reportedly seen on much lighter shades. She looks "happy and relaxed" as she enjoys her "high street clothes," the source described.

No comments or confirmations were made from the Kensington Palace about the matter. But, Business Insider noted that this might not be the case at all since it has been reportedly clear all along who has better taste when it comes to style and fashion.

The publication released a report detailing some of the most iconic styles and appearances of the two Duchesses. While comparisons were largely made, the report said that Kate Middleton was clearly the "winner."

It was explained, though, that Meghan Markle became an icon, especially after her engagement to Prince Harry was officially announced. Many reportedly look up to her style and fashion pieces as they have been quite eye-catching too.

However, the report concluded that while the Duchess of Sussex has the "willingness to experiment," she had not "pulled off anything yet" that can top Kate Middleton's overall style.
