Kate Middleton surprised everyone when she took on a new role in the royal family by taking photographs of her own kids. Her ability to take pictures speaks volumes about her talent, and she continuously receives praise for it. As Mother's Day in the United Kingdom just passed by, royal photographer Matt Porteous talked about the Duchess of Cambridge's skill and the meaning behind the Cambridges' snap that they released to celebrate moms' special day.

On Mother's Day, Kensington Royal released a series of snaps to mark the special day. One of them is the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's photos, where they seemed to be in a race while Prince George and Princess Charlotte were on their back. The said photograph was taken in 2019 by Porteous himself.

"It's a really beautiful image, isn't it? It was a surprise to me; it's only when I woke up in the morning that I saw it had been posted," the professional photographer said about the photograph, via Hello! Magazine. "I had missed the message saying that it was going to be released that day."

Porteous revealed that the photo was taken when the last Christmas card of the Cambridges came out, describing it to be a fun and "very beautiful" shot. The snap signifies family togetherness and happiness coming out in one image. He believed that they chose to post this picture because it showed love.

Working with Prince William and Kate Middleton, he pictured them as a lovely, caring, and thoughtful family. He didn't deny that he used to feel pressured whenever they were on shoots, especially the first and second time, but he felt more relaxed now.

So what's his favorite picture of the royal family? Porteous unveiled that it was the photo he took where Kate Middleton was holding Prince Louis after his christening, and the little kid gave a cute smile. He also talked about the future queen consort's passion for photography. She praised her photography skills and said that she is an "amazing photographer."

According to Insider, some of the Cambridges' most impressive shots were taken by Kate Middleton herself. She released her first official photos in June 2015 when she took some snaps of the newly-born Princess Charlotte while being held by his older brother, Prince George.

She continued to take adorable family photos using her own camera. She usually captures their kids' birthdays and the first day of school. Her talent in photography even gave her the chance to be an honorary member of the Royal Photographic Society.
