The hashtag #ForNairobi trended worldwide when Money Heist Season 2 Part 4 premiered over the weekend. If Nairobi's death wasn't enough, the series has shared the emotional farewell of actress Alba Flores to the cast and crew of the Netflix hit crime drama.
Flores' character, Ágata Jiménez a.k.a Nairobi, is dead alright but she has a choice, she would like to film more episodes with the cast and crew that she had worked with for years. In a recently released video of Flores' last shooting day, the Spanish actress shed tears as she bid goodbye to the show.
The clip started with Flores in a car on her way to the set. She confessed that filming her final scenes was very tough. The teary-eyed actress admitted that it is too realistic that she can relate to what many who have near-death experience think that their lives flashback before them.
Then Alba was seen on set filming the Nairobi's death scene. After filming, she was presented with a bunch of flowers as she gave her farewell speech to the cast and crew.
"You're a f** great team. I hope I get to film 16,000 more times with you. I'm going to miss you all," she said while crying and hugging the cast members while the rest of the crew stood around her.
Fans of Money Heist, originally known as La Casa De Papel, were left heartbroken after their fan-favorite character died in Season 2 Part 4. Many thought Nairobi would recover fully from the earlier gunshot that punctured her lung despite the police's refusal to send in a surgeon for her.
However, things turned south when one of the former hostages, Gandia (José Manuel Poga) grabbed her and shockingly shot her in the head. As Helsinki dropped to his knees, viewers felt the punch on their gut.
Nairobi's death sent a chilling twist to the story. The battle cry "For Nairobi" became the group's motivation to finish what they have started.
Nairobi has been one of the main characters since the series premiered in 2017. She is the forgery master and has been in charge of printing the money that the group would take away in their escape.
Throughout the seasons, many fans admire her focus on their mission as well as how she took care of her fellow crew members. Of all the robbers, she seems to be the most kind-hearted and empathetic to others' plight.
Meanwhile, all episodes of Money Heist Season 2 Part 4 are still available on Netflix. The streaming network has not confirmed Money Heist Season 3 Part 5 yet but there were rumors that it is already in the works.
