In another report, the ratings of The Rookie soar high after the American Idol crossover. Reportedly, the episode, titled "The Overnight," managed to generate a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and over 5.8 million viewers, which is the largest total audience for the series ever.
The crossover helps the series as it features the appearances of host Ryan Seacrest, as well as the judges. In addition, the cop drama series also airs right after the singing competition, adding more help. CarterMatt also noted that airing the series every Sunday might be beneficial as well.
