Fate appears to favor Real Madrid in the continuing narrative of Kylian Mbappe's exit from Paris Saint-Germain. The World Cup winner has been quite vocal on his plans to seek new challenges outside of Paris and this early, his moves and hints point to a scenario of joining up with Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have already expressed keen interest in the French forward and for a host of reasons. Mbappe is young and he is gold. His current season with PSG is nothing short of sensational. In 17 Ligue 1 starts, the 21-year-old scored 18 goals and had the league was not disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak, the numbers would have been far more impressive.

Yet for now, the mutual admiration between the Los Blancos and Mbappe will have to wait. Real, like other football clubs nowadays, is dealing with financial limitations so management has decided that bringing the youngster to Bernabeu in the summer is not the right time, The Sun reported.

"With no football and a huge lack of income, clubs will struggle to fork out to land their transfer target," the report said, adding the Spanish side will zero in on Mbappe again in 2021.

Next year is seen to be a better time. Hopefully by that time, Real boss Zinedine Zidane has the cash to pay the asking price put by PSG on the young goalscorer. Reports in Paris said Mbappe had rejected efforts by the club to sign an extension deal, which if true will favor the side of Zidane.

The current value of the PSG striker is at £189 million but with the absence of an expensive extension deal plus the economic impact of the COVID-19 spread, that amount will likely shrink in 2021.

If Real will pursue the plan to buy Mbappe, it is estimated that the purchase will only need £139 million so for the Bernabeu side, it pays to wait. And it looked like that Mbappe himself is willing to hold out and make it easier for Real to fulfill his dream of becoming a Galactico.

AS said one picture that could play out is that the PSG star will deliberately allow his deal with the Parisians to expire in 2022, and by which time he would be free to go and play for Real, which will be getting the Frenchman for no cost at all.

The benefit for Mbappe is that Zidane will have the room to offer him a handsome pay package, thus potentially making him the highest-paid footballer on the planet and he just needs to wait two more years.

However, AS said it seemed unlikely for Real to let things go down that way. The two clubs share a good history of doing business so antagonizing one another should be out of the question.
