Last Man Standing season 8 is nearing its season finale and some have been wondering whether or not it will deliver a cliffhanger this time. It can be noted that the series halted its production after completing 21 episodes of their planned 22-episode order. It appears that episode 21 now serves as the season finale and it could leave a big cliffhanger, especially Kristin Baxter and her baby.
Even though Last Man Standing season 8 is missing one episode, the series may still conclude with a cliffhanger since it will revolve around Kristin giving birth. Speaking to TVLine, Amanda Fuller, who made her directorial debut in the recent episode, has something to say about the subject. She hinted that the current season will, indeed, end with a cliffhanger.
When asked about what viewers can expect in the finale of Last Man Standing season 8, Fuller said a baby is coming. The baby will also factor into the supposed finale that they didn't shoot. She said that the journey will start in the last episode that they shoot. So even though the original finale will not be aired, the show will still deliver a cliffhanger.
The season was able to complete 21 episodes before the current health crisis around the world. There is no indication that episode 22 will still be part of the current installment or will be included in the next season. Right now, it's apparent that filming may not happen anytime soon, that's why the show decided to end the season with 21 episodes.
Still, Last Man Standing season 8 may end with a happy cliffhanger, given that the birth of a baby is a big celebration. Perhaps, Kristin starts to go into labor in episode 21, and her journey to starts in episode 22. But since episode 22 wasn't yet filmed, some things could still change. The episode might be carried out in the potential season 9, or there'll be a time jump wherein the baby is several months old already.
Fuller also shared in the interview what was their reactions after the series shuts down it's filming, noting that there's no talk about it. The initially planned to film the show without the presence of a live audience, but the night they supposed to shoot episode 22, they received the news that filming was halted. The actress said everything happened really fast and Fox told them not to come back on the lot.
