Outlander season 5 episode 8 is arriving on Sunday on Starz, with the title "Famous Last Words." This will be an emotional episode as we'll see some of the characters, especially Jamie and Claire, dealing with the aftermath of Murtagh's death.
The Frasers as still in the mourning process in Outlander season 5 episode 8. For Jamie, he knew Murtagh for most of his life; he's a supporter and a valuable confidante. And now, Jamie may no longer do Governor Tryon's bidding, especially since the Revolutionary War is approaching.
Murtagh is a significant person for Claire, as well. He's one of the few people who celebrated her and Jamie's relationship. She also trusts him as she allows him to know her status as a time-traveler. That's actually impressive since they weren't on the same side for much of the Regulator conflict.
Murtagh's death was soul-crushing for Jamie. He couldn't accept the fact that he's gone and even brought his body back to Claire, hoping that he could be saved. Yet, he also recognized there's no way saving him, he's devastated because of that and things will get intense moving forward.
In a recent interview with Elle, Sam Heughan said Murtagh's death impacts Jamie in a huge way. He is not only losing his godfather, but he's also losing his last real contact with Scotland. Murtagh is the last member of his blood aside from his aunt and daughter.
As for what else is coming in Outlander season 5 episode 8, Brianna gets an offer of a generous gift of land. However, she's not interested in it and all she wants is to her husband back. That's her priority right now as Roger is the only one that matters to her.
Roger's fate is still hanging up in the air and everything wouldn't be easy for him and Brianna. It remains to be seen how and what Brianna will do to save her husband. The previous episode also left viewers hanging, leaving some questions about the future of the couple.
In addition, Brianna may be facing some problems along the way, which could lead to fears in the future. Stephen Bonnet is a major concern here since he could be making his appearance in the most terrible way. He's capable of hurting a lot of people and doesn't care about anything.
Outlander season 5 episode 8 will be airing on Sunday night, Apr. 12, on Starz.
