NBC has yet to confirm the renewal status of Manifest season 3, but there are a lot of interesting stories worth exploring in the potential new installment. The series left a huge cliffhanger and new mysteries for Flight 828 passengers. And aside from that, some personal storylines are needed to be addressed as well, including the status of Michaela and Jared.

If ever Manifest season 3 will be renewed, the series will likely explore different storylines, as well as the relationships of some of the characters. For instance, Michaela married Zeke, who miraculously survived in the season 2 finale, and they'll now move forward together. But then, Michaela's relationship with Jared is needed to be addressed as well, and whether or not they'll stay at odds.

Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Jeff Rake said that Manifest season 3 is all about "rehabilitating the relationship between Michaela and Jared." Each of them will challenge themselves to try to be "friends without benefits." Rake explained the two will also try to have the strength and discipline to allow their relationship to evolve.

For Michaela, she'll be in a place where she can have a "really honest, sexy, romantic, emotionally fulfilling marriage with Zeke." But despite her marriage, she still has a place for Jared at the same time. Hence, their relationship will further be explored if ever Manifest season 3 happens. Even though they'll not be involved romantically, they could, at least, rekindle their friendship.

Meanwhile, Manifest season 3 will also focus on a new mystery. The finale of the previous installment left viewers in shock. There is a new mystery for Flight 828 passengers; the plane also exists in the ocean, which is odd since it landed during the series' pilot. This raises a question as to whether or not the passengers are alive.

In the season 2 finale, Bend had another Calling in which he saw the plane burning in the air and crashing into the ocean. Then, he sees the fishermen pulling the plane out of the ocean. The tail fin has been found, which is similar to the one seen from the series' pilot. It's odd that the aircraft was discovered in the sea, considering that all passengers safely landed.

The main question here is how the tail fin ended up in the middle of the sea, given that the plane already exploded. It landed and then exploded on the tarmac during the pilot episode. But now that one of its parts was found, there's also a possibility it crashed in the ocean. This is a new mystery of Michaela, Ben, Saanvi, and other passengers in Manifest season 3.
