Meghan Markle officially became a senior member of the British Royal Family after getting married to Prince Harry in 2018. Since then, the Sussex couple had attended almost all important royal engagements and events.

However, recent reports revealed that there is one special royal event that the Duchess has not been able to attend. As it happened, in the span of two years as a senior working royal, it was noticed that she was always absent during the annual Easter Sunday church service in Windsor.

According to Hello! magazine, Meghan Markle has never attended yet the said engagement since becoming a royal. In 2018, sources revealed that she and Prince Harry decided to spend the holiday privately as they were preparing for the upcoming wedding in May of the same year.

The following year, she was also nowhere to be found in Windsor despite her husband's attendance in the special event. As revealed, she was not able to attend the service because the date was already close to her "due date."

Archie Harrison was born on May 6, 2019, which was just two weeks away from the service day, April 21, 2019. Aside from Meghan Markle's absence, there were also other royals who were not able to attend. It was stated that the Queen was only seen with Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, Zara Tindall, and Mike Tindall.

For this year, however, the annual service for Easter Sunday has been cancelled as per Express UK. With the current crisis that the United Kingdom, as well as the rest of the world, has been facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all engagements and social gatherings have been either cancelled or postponed, which included the said service at St George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The publication stated, though, that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip have been staying in the property since March. It was said that the royal couple chose the Norfolk property where they could observe social isolation.

As for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, they reportedly relocated to the United States after staying for months in Canada. Several sources said that the Sussex couple, along with their son, Archie, was able to fly from the Commonwealth country to the Duchess' hometown just before Canada shut its borders.

While it has remained unknown when they will return to the United Kingdom, the reports shared that many are expecting to see Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in 2021's Easter Sunday church service with the Queen and the rest of the British Royal Family.
