Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux ended things between them smoothly as they were friends until now. But a tabloid alleged that it wasn't the case at all. The ex-spouses are allegedly feuding because of a common friend: Emma Stone.
According to New Idea, there is an ongoing "toxic feud" between Aniston and Theroux because of Stone. Apparently, the Leftovers actor has been receiving career advice from Stone and her fiance, Saturday Night Live writer Dave McCray. The Friends actress is reportedly not pleased about it.
"She hates how Justin's still using the connections he made during their time together. But Justin makes the point that he has every right to talk to their mutual friends and Jen needs to stop being so bitter," a source told the tabloid.
Justin's close friendship with Emma and Dave allegedly bugs the Murder Mystery actress. But this doesn't bother Theroux at all.
Gossip Cop dismissed the New Idea's story as purely fabricated. The outlet pointed out that the former couple gets along really well despite their split in 2017.
They reunited in July 2019 to bury their dog, Dolly. Justin also attended some parties that were hosted by Jen. When The Morning Star actress launched her own Instagram account, the Wanderlust actor was one of the first stars who congratulated Aniston.
Gossip Cop pointed out that New Idea hasn't been exactly accurate on its past stories about Aniston and Theroux's relationship in the past. Earlier this year, it also claimed that Jen and her first ex-husband Brad Pitt were trying to block Theroux's plan to write a tell-all book. The publication claimed Justin was upset that Aniston and Pitt were back together and he was ready to reveal everything about his six-year relationship with Jen.
Meanwhile, Jen and Emma have been friends for years. Justin and the La La La actress, on the other hand, became friends because of Aniston. They eventually became close pals when they worked together on the Netflix show Maniac in 2017.
This is also not the first time that there were rumors written about Aniston, Theroux, and Stone. After Jen and Justin broke up in late 2017, The Spy Who Dumped Me actor and Emma showed some PDA on social media. This fueled rumors that they were dating.
Back in May 2018, they were also photographed hanging out together in New York City for some late-night sushi. They spent some time together at a private cabana at their hotel in the South of France after attending the Louis Vuitton cruise show.
