Prince Harry apparently didn't throw a personal dig at Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip when he, allegedly, dropped his surname from a legal document. A report cited that the Duke of Sussex filed papers for Travalyst, his eco-tourism initiative, but his name did not reflect the family name, Mountbatten-Windsor or his HRH title.

A source confirmed to Us Weekly that Prince Harry allegedly spoke with Queen Elizabeth after it was revealed that he registered the document under "Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex." The source said that Prince Harry has no plans to legally ditch Mountbatten-Windsor and he apparently reassured Queen Elizabeth that he is not making a personal dig against the royal family.

It was Daily Mail which first reported that Prince Harry dropped his royal title and surname in registering Travalyst.  However, Prince Harry also listed his name as Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex in the birth certificate of his son, Archie Harrison, in 2018. The only difference between the Travalyst document and the birth certificate is that Prince Harry used "His Royal Highness" or HRH, the royal title, in the birth certificate.

According to the official website of the royal family, more often than not, royals do not use a surname at all. This means that it's not actually unusual for Prince Harry to sign documents without the Mountbatten-Windsor surname hence there was nothing unusual about the Travalyst document.

Historically, as well, members of the royal family go by the names of the places over which their families ruled. Thus, when Prince Harry was still a child, he and his brother, Prince William, were actually known as the Wales boys since their father, Prince Charles, is the Prince of Wales, while their mom, Princess Diana, was the Princess of Wales.

The one thing that really stood out from the Travalyst document was Prince Harry ditching the royal title. When the Duke of Sussex returned to London for his final round of royal engagements in February, he did tell the people at Travalyst that everyone can simply refer to him as Harry.

This comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping back from their royal roles and moving to United States for half the time of the year. This doesn't, however, erase the fact the Prince Harry is still a royal, as he was born a royal, and he is still the sixth in line to the British throne.
