Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are using the money that was generated from the BBC broadcast of their wedding from 2018 to go to the needy in the time of the coronavirus pandemic. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex pledged over $112,000 for the charity, Feeding Britain, which will come from their wedding broadcast.

According to Daily Mail, Prince Harry and Meghan decided to give the excess proceeds of their royal wedding broadcast to help children in this global crisis. The Sussex pair, reportedly, informed the Archbishop of Canterbury of their decision by phone, as he is the president of Feeding Britain.

A spokesperson for the Sussex royals said that Prince Harry and Meghan learned of the work Feeding Britain was doing in Birkhead in this coronavirus crisis. The Sussexes apparently have great memories of their visit to Birkhead while Meghan was pregnant with their first baby.

"They are delighted to be able to ensure this money is donated to such a great cause," the spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan said.

Apparently, BBC had an agreement with the royals that if there were any excess profits from the wedding broadcast, a percentage of it will go to the charity the Duke and Duchess of Sussex nominated. The royal wedding in 2018 was such a top rater that it exceeded its commercial profitability.

The donation comes as Prince Harry and Meghan received criticisms for choosing to live in a 10-bedroom home as they settle in Los Angeles. The Malibu mansion apparently costs in the multi-million pounds. The host of talkRADIO Mike Graham said that the Sussex pair should have used the money for coronavirus relief efforts.

Graham said that Prince Harry and Meghan could make a genuine caring act if they donated to charities in this crisis even if they, too, are going to struggle in the coming months. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet taken their new foundation, Archewell, off the ground because of they can't have face-to-face meetings with potential donors just yet. The coronavirus pandemic has halted the Sussex pair's plan to launch Archewell since governments are enforcing lockdowns and stay-at-home-orders.

However, Prince Harry and Meghan will still have some monetary support from their dad, Prince Charles. The Prince of Wales agreed that he will spend for half of the Sussex pair's security cost for the next 12 months. However, a spokesperson for Prince Charles said that the income generated from the Duchy of Cornwall is not going to be infinite thus Prince Harry and Meghan will have to source their income by working and hustling.
