There have been previous speculations that Donald Ressler's brother will be appearing in one of the episodes of The Blacklist season 7. Now, it turns out that those speculations were true as the character arrives in the episode airing next week.
In a recent report via ET Online, it was revealed that Anthony Michael Hall will be portraying the role of Robby in the April 24 episode of The Blacklist season 7. What's interesting here is that Robby and Donald have a complicated relationship, which could stir things up between them.
The estranged brothers don't have the best relationship and it looks like some of their long-buried secrets will resurface within this episode. It's yet to be revealed why they are seemingly at odds, but it's apparent that their relationship is far rockier than previously expected.
There is also a chance that Robby will appear beyond this episode. In fact, the May 1 episode of The Blacklist season 7 has the title "Brothers," hinting that the series may further explore Donald and Robby's relationship. The series didn't include a Blacklister on the title, so this could be a different installment.
Meanwhile, aside from Hall's Robby, the late Brian Dennehy also returns in The Blacklist season 7. The legendary actor, who died on Apr. 15, 2020, will be reprising his role as Dom -- Katarina Rostova's father and the man tied to the entire mythology of the series.
Dom is one of the essential characters in the series. Aside from being the father of Katarina, he also harbors a lot of secrets. What makes the character even more interesting is that he has a complicated, as well as dangerous past.
Moreover, Dennehy's character has been part of several notable episodes, but Dom's life was on the line after a shootout earlier this season. Deadline reported that the character will be appearing again in the May finale, which is episode 19.
Following the actor's passing, executive producer and creator Jon Bokenkamp said in a statement that fans will get to see Dennehy once again in the series. Bokenkamp also noted they're working with the existing and previously filmed footage so they could complete the season finale.
Reportedly, the upcoming Friday episode planned something to honor Dennehy. And since there are still a lot of remaining episodes leading to the finale, the series may further find a way to honor the fantastic work of the late actor.
The Blacklist season 7 airs every Friday night on NBC.
