Meghan Markle is going to have her first interview since stepping back from the royal family and moving to the United States. The Duchess of Sussex will be featured in the ABC show Good Morning America (GMA) but she will not be talking about her royal life.

Instead, the pre-recorded interview will feature Meghan as she promotes her Disney project Elephants, per Deadline. The documentary film has been streaming on Disney+ since April 3.

The segment will air on Monday, April 20. The GMA promo dubbed Meghan as their "special guest" and she is expected to give a first look at the Disney documentary.

Meghan recorded the nature film in October at a studio in London. Prince Harry reportedly came with his wife when she worked on voicing the documentary. The Duke of Sussex apparently gave his wife some tips on enunciating some words.

The Duchess of Sussex's talent fee for Elephants was donated to the charity Elephants Without Borders. The documentary film producers said that this was a project that took years in the making and Meghan had to sort of do an audition to get the part of the narrator.

Speaking with People, Mark Linfield and Vanessa Berlowitz said that they met with Prince Harry and Meghan in 2017 in Botswana and ended up talking about their documentary. The filmmakers said that the Duchess of Sussex was fascinated by the story and they thought she would make a great narrator for the film.

"We actually tried her voice against the picture, right then," Berlowitz said. They used a segment from her show Suits to voice rough footage of Elephants and it apparently worked well that they signed up the duchess. Elephant has been Meghan's first major film project since quitting Hollywood in 2017 to marry Prince Harry.

Meghan just gave birth to her son, Archie Harrison, when she worked on the narration. Berlowitz revealed that the royal was identifying with the animals in the documentary because it told of a story of an elephant herd's challenges with bringing a baby as they journey through Africa.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are keeping it low key as they begin their life away from the royal family in Los Angeles. But since the coronavirus lockdown, Prince Harry and Meghan have yet to officially launch their new foundation, Archewell. They have been helping out with food deliveries for the chronically ill around the West Hollywood neighborhood for the charity Project Angel Food.
