The series finale may feature a story about legacy, as well as figuring out where some of the characters stand in the end. Considering the episode title, it's obvious that all of them will be facing their own struggles. Although they've dealt with most of their problems, they recognize that they need to find a way out.
Perhaps, one of the biggest questions in Homeland season 8 episode 12 is whether or not Carrie Mathison will get a happy ending. According to CarterMatt, the character may not get such a conclusion, largely because she's been dealing with a lot of issues from the start.
At the moment, things aren't that great for Carrie. There is still a huge concern when it comes to her story. Saul's storyline is also interesting to explore and his life may be in danger, as well. Considering the recent happenings in his life, Carrie may have likely led him to a dangerous path.

In addition, the series may find a way to bring peace within two countries: Afghanistan and the United States. There have been miscommunication and danger in every turn. A lot of lives have been lost already, so peace between the two countries is highly needed.
In the end, even though Carrie may not have a happy ending, the war between the two countries could be resolved. But if not, then these countries may find a way to make sure their people wouldn't be in danger anymore. These are just some of the exciting stories worth-exploring in the series finale.
