Premier League clubs like Chelsea have been working to acquire Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho but it was clear from the onset that the youngster has a preference. Reports said the England international has made a deal with Manchester United and details of the agreement have been finalized pending the official announcement.

Sancho is said to "to have agreed almost every detail of a move to Old Trafford - down to the small print,"

According to The Sun, after months of secret talks, the contract details governing the transfer and Sancho's stay with the Red Devils have been ironed out. How much the player will be paid, which is rumored to be one of the highest at the club when implemented, and the bonuses have been approved in principle.

Practically, the deal is on the bag as far as United is concerned but the club will still need to negotiate the final price tag on the transfer fee. The report did not provide the specific amount asked by BVB but it is believed the Bundesliga side will demand a higher price that was paid for the transfer deal on Paul Pogba.

In 2016, Pogba moved from Juventus to United and it cost the English club £89 million. Dortmund is expected to make United pay a higher amount.

Per the same report, United has sanctioned the transfer target that club boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified. A meeting between the two parties has supposedly commenced in September 2019 and as the later reports now indicated, the discussions went on the months that past that led to the threshing out of the deal's details.

Solskjaer's pursuit of Sancho has the backing too of United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, which should mean that the amount to be spent on the closing of the deal has been approved by the club board.

Yet while it seemed that the Dortmund wonderkid is certain of joining up with the Red Devils, the German club is now scrambling to keep Sancho from leaving the side.

"Jadon Sancho will be offered a huge pay rise by Borussia Dortmund if he agrees to stay at the Bundesliga club and resist a move back to the Premier League," Express reported.

In making the offer to increase Sancho's take-home pay, BVB appeared confident that the English sensation will delay his return to the Premier League for at least one more year.

Should Sancho give his approval on the offer, he stands to make €10 million per year and the pay rate will make him Dortmund's second-highest paid with team captain Marco Reus on No. 1.
