Animal Kingdom season 5 is set to premiere in summer 2020, but is there a chance the release date will be delayed due to the current health crisis around the world? Most shows shut down their production due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but some summer shows may not be affected by this.
In a previous report via TVLine, half of the fifth installment's episodes were filmed before the series halted its production. So, the main question now is whether or not Animal Kingdom season 5 release date will be delayed. Right now, however, nothing is certain.
But since the half of the season has been filmed, there's a chance Animal Kingdom season 5 may proceed with its original release date. Yet, TNT may also consider other factors before airing the new season, including the post-production team working remotely.
CarterMatt noted that the latest installment could be split into two, or the entire season could be delayed and aired it all at once at some point. For now, viewers may need to wait for the official announcement from TNT to find out when the show will, indeed, arrive.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of exciting stories once Animal Kingdom season 5 arrives on TNT. One of the interesting storylines here is how the Codys will move forward after Smurf's death. Some recent clips of the new installment tease a new generation of crime for the family.
Smurf often facilitates their plans, but now that she's out of the picture, the Codys will start from almost scratch. They will likely build new contacts and new empires. While they may have experiences about it, things wouldn't be that easy for them.
Now that Smurf is gone, Pope, Deran, Craig, and J need to find a way how to move forward. Perhaps, their first order of business in Animal Kingdom season 5 is trying to figure out how much they want to include Angela with their operations.
The Codys know that Angela has experiences within the real, so they'll probably consider trusting her, especially after what happened in season 4 finale. Aside from that, the new season may also see the family trying to look at other people around them.
Pamela Johnson is also a mystery moving forward. She's the woman who Smurf left most of her money to. It also looks like that both of them know each other from the past. Hence, this story will be further explored once the latest season premieres on TNT.
