Outlander actor Sam Heughan won't give up on social media despite the continued online bullying and harassment on him. Instead, he used it to spread positive vibes amidst the coronavirus pandemic and urged his fans to stay healthy while on self-quarantine at home.

While on self-isolation in Hawaii, Heughan took to social media to reveal that he has been dealing with people who made false accusations against him for the past six years. In a lengthy post on Instagram and Twitter, the Bloodshot actor said he has been accused of "manipulating fans, being a closet-homosexual, trying to mislead or exhort fans for money and disregarding coronavirus advice."

The most recent accusation on the Scottish actor was due to his decision to stay in Hawaii, where he went on vacation before the travel ban was imposed because of the pandemic. Heughan, who rose to fame for playing  Jamie Fraser in the period drama Outlander, admitted that the false accusations against him have been affecting his mental state and it has become a daily concern for him.

Outlander author Diana Gabaldon and series executive producer Maril Davis stood for the actor. They said everyone should be respectful of Heughan's private life even though he is a celebrity.

Heughan's onscreen wife, Caitriona Balfe, has been more direct on her comment. She slammed those who criticize and harass not only the actor but also his family and friends.

"Maybe they should harness all that energy to get involved in their local charities...If you don't like us...it's a big beautiful world out there," Balfe said. The hashtag #WeStandWithSam has been trending since.

Heughan's concern about online bullies, however, will not slow him down on reaching to his fans via social media. A few days after his post, the Spy Who Dumped Me actor joined the One World: Together At Home campaign and gave a message of support and gratitude to all front liners around the world in the fight against coronavirus.

He called those who are working in the front line risking their lives to save others as the real heroes. Sam also issued a call for action to all world leaders to strengthen the healthcare system of their country to make sure that a health crisis as the COVID-19 would never happen again.

Sam also urged those staying at home to support local charities and stay healthy. Heughan mentioned that his global community organization, My Peak Challenge, also created a 30-day social distancing workout series for everyone to stay mentally and physically healthy even staying at home.
