Westworld season 3 episode 7 is arriving later this week on HBO, with the title "Passed Pawn." This episode may probably feature a story about friendship, though it could be a complicated one. There could be some emotional stories here, as well as a few twists and turns.

The synopsis of Westworld season 3 episode 7 didn't give much detail about what to expect, aside from noting "a real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out." It looks like Caleb's backstory will also be explored within this episode.

In the promo of Westworld season 3 episode 7, Dolores suggests that Caleb might be more than he initially thought. The clip shows Dolores saying Caleb spent most of his life believing that he's a follower. Then, she tells him to lead -- though it's unclear what she means.

But, her remarks could possibly be linked to the synopsis, wherein Caleb is the only one who can take control when the rest of the work walks out. Even since he arrived at the start of season 3, he has been an unknown quantity.

Some suspected that Caleb could be a host, but that remains uncertain. Since his backstory will be explored in the next episode, some mysteries and secrets from his past might be uncovered. The clip also delves into his life, showing a glimpse of his military days.

Aside from Caleb's backstory, the trailer also shows a spaceship, with some speculating it's the vessel where Engerraund Serac resides. What's more is that Westworld season 3 episode 7 serves as the penultimate, so expect some big stories leading to the finale.

Unlike the previous two installments, the third season only has eight episodes this time. As for the renewal status, there is no indication that the third installment would be the final one for the series. However, CarterMatt noted the series probably have a limited shelf life since it's not something that could go for full 10 or 12 seasons.

Westworld season 3 episode 7 airs on Sunday night, Apr. 26, on HBO. The episode is directed by Helen Shaver and written by Gina Atwater. The series can be watched on the HBO website either by subscription for HBO Go or HBO NOW. For other options, the show can also be streamed on Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Direct TV.
