Prince William and Kate Middleton’s youngest child Prince Louis turns two today, April 23. The Duchess of Cambridge, who is a keen amateur photographer, then marked her son’s milestone by posting adorable pictures of the young royal.

Kate Middleton released five photos of Prince Louis where he can be seen grinning at the camera and showing off his painted palms. The now two-year-old will be celebrating his birthday with his parents and older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three young children are currently residing at the family’s country mansion as they complied with the lockdown protocol due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson previously announced that Britons are only allowed to leave their homes to buy necessities, for medical needs, travel to or from work if they are unable to work from home, and once a day exercise. This is an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The emergency protocol should be strictly followed until it is lifted. And just like everyone else in the UK and most parts of the world, the Royal family is also practicing the implemented lockdown. That being said, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their kids will remain in place despite Prince Louis’ birthday. The Duchess of Cambridge had always tried to make her children experience normal things such as having birthday parties with family and friends, but her youngest son will not be celebrating that this year.

It is also worth noting that Kate Middleton has a family business even before she married Prince William, which is a party supplies business Party Pieces that specializes in children’s birthdays. With her mom Carole being the founder, she may have been helping the Duchess of Cambridge with all of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis's birthday celebrations. But unless the lockdown is lifted, the Duchess of Cambridge had to cancel all the party plans.

But Prince Louis is not the only one who will be celebrating his birthday in lockdown. Princess Charlotte will be turning five on May 2, and there’s a high possibility that she will be celebrating her special day in lockdown as well.

Also, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie will be turning one on May 6. While first birthdays are always important, it seems like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have to keep Archie’s first birthday very simple.
