It’s no secret that Piers Morgan is not a huge fan of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Good Morning Britain host has been slamming the couple for quite a long time, but most especially when they decided to step down as senior royals.
Now, Piers Morgan is agitated after hearing Prince Harry’s coronavirus pandemic comment. The controversial host slammed the Duke of Sussex for starting a new war with the media and accusing it of “exaggerating” COVID-19.
“I’m just so incredibly proud to see what these individuals up and down the country and across the world are doing on a day to day basis,” Prince Harry said. “I think that what is happening especially in the UK is the very best of the human spirit. It’s also proving that I think things are better than we’re led to believe through certain corners of the media. It can be very worrying when you’re sitting there and the only information you are getting is from certain news channels, but then if you are out and about or you are on the right platforms, you can really sense this human spirit coming to the forefront."
Piers Morgan blasted Prince Harry for his statement, where the Duke of Sussex appeared to be suggesting that the UK media is representing the coronavirus outbreak larger than it really is.
“And what was Harry’s contribution to this debate other than making it all about him again?” Piers Morgan said. “It was actually to do this in a podcast to claim that we are all exaggerating this war. Thank God the British media is showing the reality of this. I don’t want to hear from these two if they want to announce a new war with the media. Shut up, seriously.”
Piers Morgan is not the only one who was not happy with Prince Harry’s comment. Medical experts were also upset with him, branding his remarks as “outrageous.”
“What are his qualifications for making these comments — other than deserting his country in its hour of need? I think these remarks are outrageous,” he said. “As for the media, I really don’t understand what Harry’s beef is. Journalists have been reporting the facts and have been doing great work in holding the Government to account. The media has also championed the NHS and become a key ally of doctors, nurses and key workers. They should be applauded, not vilified."
Nadra Ahmed of the National Care Association then warned Prince Harry that he has no idea of the whole coronavirus pandemic situation.
