It seems that YG Entertainment did have something up its sleeve this whole time for BLACKPINK's comeback after no less than Lady Gaga confirmed that Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose will be featured in collaboration for her new album Chromatica.
The Mother Monster confirmed the news that she collaborated on a song entitled Sour Candy for her upcoming album Chromatica, Soompi reported. This will be Lady Gaga's much anticipated sixth studio album which will also feature the likes of Ariana Grande and Elton John.
BLINKs celebrated the news on social media with the hashtag #GAGAPINK which trended worldwide a few hours shortly after Lady Gaga posted about the news on Twitter.
This is the first confirmed news about BLACKPINK's new material after the release of their megahit Kill This Love in April. It can be recalled that fans have been clamoring for a comeback from BLACKPINK since last year after YG Entertainment focused the group's promotions overseas through the Your Area World Tour.
Late last year, YG Entertainment finally confirmed that BLACKPINK will make a comeback within the first quarter of which led BLINKs to expect an album to be released by March.
However, with the health threat presented by Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic, YG opted to hold off BLACKPINK's comeback again to an unconfirmed release.Meanwhile, with the news that BLACKPINK will be featured on Lady Gaga's album, Jisoo touched base with fans through social media with a simple yet emotionally charged message, reported Kpopstarz.
"It's difficult not being able to meet us for such a long time right. We will be able to meet a lot soon. As we work hard to prepare this and that to show you more sides of us, BLINKs please don't be sick too and live every single day happily while waiting" she said.
Her message made BLINKs all over the world very emotional because of the promise of meeting after a long time and her obvious concern over the welfare of their fandom."Blackpink is working so hard for us, I hope we can all focus on that and not let this antis ruin that for us," one fan said as she expressed appreciation for Jisoo's words.
BLINKs have been waiting for BLACKPINK's comeback for over a year after Kill This Love recently marked a year since its release. BLINKs complained that while other girl groups are given two to three comebacks a year, BLACKPINK is the only group limited to a single comeback despite the success of their music.
